Applied Training Solutions, LLC (ATS), participated in PANAMAX 2024, a critical multinational military exercise conducted August 4-14. The exercise, overseen by U.S. Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM), aimed to evaluate and enhance the command’s capability to collaborate with partner nations in addressing potential terrorist threats in South America.
PANAMAX 2024 simulated a complex scenario involving a large, organized terrorist organization exerting control over the fictional nation of New Centralia. The exercise tested the ability of USSOUTHCOM and its partner nations, including Panama, Costa Rica, and other Central and South American countries, to identify and neutralize the threat through strategic cooperation and intelligence sharing.
ATS contributed to the exercise by deploying ATSsim Media, a media and social media emulation tool, which played a crucial role in supporting the information operations team’s training objectives. ATSsim Media was utilized to generate realistic media and social media scenario injects, creating an expansive exercise information environment. These injects were designed to enhance the training audience’s experience by simulating the complexities of public affairs, civil affairs, open-source intelligence collection, and psychological operations.
Throughout the exercise, ATSsim Media provided dynamic and realistic content that supported role players, observers, controllers, and the training audience. The platform also facilitated the crafting of strategic communication injects for the Higher Control (HICON) cell, directly contributing to the exercise’s success in validating USSOUTHCOM’s operational readiness.
The implementation of ATSsim Media was well received by participants, adding a layer of public sentiment and realism that elevated the overall training experience. This innovative approach demonstrated ATS’s continued commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions that enhance the preparedness of military and emergency response units.
